Hi there!  I’m Sophia.  The title of this blog tells you a bit about me, but along with being Asian and vegan and a mom to 2 incredible rugrats, I’m also a project accountant working in the beautiful city of Boston, who loves to constantly learn more about veganism and healthy living.

I originally hail from San Francisco, and I moved to the Boston area in 2012 after the birth of my son.  I took time off from work to stay home for a couple of years, and then I had my daughter at the end of 2014 (our tax savings baby hah!).  When she hit 9 months, I made the decision to go back to work full time.

I started this blog in May 2016 with the hopes of sharing really simple and quick recipes with those who are pressed for time (hello mom life!), those who are transitioning to a plant based lifestyle, and those who want easy, no fuss recipes but still want real, whole foods.  I’m a full time working mom to two, so I definitely don’t do complicated ­čśë I also want to show how truly easy it is to live a vegan lifestyle.  I used to be one of those people who wonders what vegan people ate.  Well, I can tell you now- everything! I also used to think that vegan meals were complicated.  That couldn’t be further from the truth!  Vegan meals can be as simple as you want them to be.  If I can make it then you can too!

As far as my vegan journey, the short version is that in 2016, I decided to give up dairy products for Lent.  During this time, I began to follow a bunch of vegan people on social media to look for meal inspiration.  One thing led to another, and before I knew what had happened I found myself listening to talks by Dr. McDougall, Dr. Pritikin, Dr. Campbell, and reading books like “The China Study”, and watching clips of movies like “Earthlings”.  The combination of all these things led to me committing to a lifetime of veganism.
